My bars are protaper fats, Carmichael bend. If you are riding through water then I would not fit a stage 2 filter. Disconnecting the AIS does not effect the fueling of the bike but stops it back firing on the over run & reduces noise from the airbox when cruising. Would you recommend a 2nd DNA filter on bike that is always on dirt, sand, rain-water ? Oh and something else would i benefit from disconnecting the AIS ? P.S. What brand(-type) is the handle bar in your new XT700? Million thanks for your time! Cheers George. I have the XT660R '04 model, have flitted a stage 1, K&N filter and a set of full length Carbon Cans. I have upped Co 14 units , have noticed that the bike has more torque at the low rpm and the throttle is smoother , at the middle rpm no change and maybe a slight lose of power , and at the high end rpm i slight improvement(which might be mistaken by me i am not an expert that is how i feel the bike compared to stock). Also when i open the throttle from the low to mid i have much more vibrations compared to stock(motor has 17.800 Km).Maybe the motor scorching due to low fuel-air ratio? What do you recommend? a power commander maybe and a 2nt stage DNA? will you fuel mod do the job? I have heard from ioannisg that the outlet valves could be toast from incorrect fuel to the engine. Please advise and thank you in advance for your time. Regards George. Hi George You are spot on with the torque & RPM rangers. You do have more vibration from the bike when more air is added, if a stage 2 filter is fitted you will find a bigger improvment in torque & HP. The best fuel device is a PCIII & would recommend one with a custom fuel map being made for ones bike, my mod is for guys who can't really afford a power commander & does it does not need to be run on a dyno to be set up. I have sold over 150 fuel mods with 100% feed back so they do work & will help in correcting the fuel ratio. If you are running any extra filters the bike will run lean & will produce less power then if the air/fuel ratio is correct. Burning valves could happen in the long term, that's going by what the dyno tells us, not from anyone burning any valve as yet, time will tell. Cheers for now. Kev |
