maxwell123455 is on a distinguished road
There is a guy called fostersmonster who had his bike restricted (supposedly). I will try and buzz him to see if he can shine some light on this subject.

I used to own a Honda Deauville 650 that was restricted to 33bhp and to be frank its ok for about 2-3months while you get used to the bike/handling/weight etc etc but after that it just gets boring and annoying .

The on the DV it kept all its torque and most of the power but wouldnt rev over 5.5k rpm which was when all the power came in for bigger over takes. I had the restrictor on for 4months i think but was going to be touring europe so needed the extra power to haul me and gear around (when taking it out it gets destroyed so never put it back in, dont tell the police)

I take it your looking at doing your test then buying a XT660X/R to restrict for the 2 years to 33bhp?

Just for a matter of interest (You dont have to answer this if you dont want to) what height, wieght are you and what type of bike are you looking for?
(Apart from the XT660X/R)

Just ive a friend doing his test soon and we're having the same problem of finding him a bike as hes 6ft2 and about 14stone some was like me and doesnt fit on to many 250's/400s/500s etc
