Sprocket too thin?!

Spent yesterday changing my chain and sprockets. What a palaver that was. Needed an impact wrench in the end as couldn't budge it with a breaker bar.

Nice new DID 520 VX2 chain along with a set of JT sprockets from Wemoto. I have bought the rear JT sprocket from them in the past and had no issues with it. However, I removed the front sprocket (an all metal number from OTR) and put on the new JT 15 tooth sprocket on. This has the rubber bushes on it.

Issue 1
When turning by hand I noticed that the DID clip link was catching the two bolts that hold the oil seal cover plate behind the sprocket.

I measured a part worn Yamaha front sprocket which appears to be 11m thick. When I measured the new JT sprocket it was 10mm thick. I chose these two as they both have the rubber sides. I have temporarily put this old sprocket on for the moment. Unsure whether to try and space this out or look for an alternative sprocket.

Issue 2
Now the bike tends to wail occasionally when under power. Particularly when in fourth gear. It sounds like it is coming from the right hand (throttle side) of the bike. It is s completely silent if I freewheel it or when running the engine in neutral. Not sure what is causing this as was never present before the work.

Any ideas on either of these issues?
