I might be too hopeful now, but it seems to be (more or less) fixed. Mechanic took off the hose, cleaned the plugs where the hose connects to the rad and motor and tightened the radiator cap a bit more.

I can only see veeeery faint weeping still. So it's not completely fixed but I seem to be getting there.
