I hadn't realised that you could buy this part separately from the ignition lock.

They have managed to snap the pin that slides out into the yoke as well as the casing that this pin sits in. The yoke itself is ok apart from a small gouge.

I had visions that I would have to replace lock , keys etc etc Hence my interest in the original post and their experience.
