As Renton suggests, the bearings themselves are as cheap as chips.

Now this is a different matter. Whilst not a particularly difficult job in itself, replacing the bearings is quite time consuming as quite a lot of bike needs dismantling and the races can be stubborn little sods to get out of the headstock and off the steering stem, so labour charges will be relatively high compared to the cost of the actual parts. It could work out quite costly depending on your local labour rates. It's much more economically viable to do it yourself.
