I made a wooden wedge which I push in under the wheel to raise it up by increments. I also have a rope with a loop from the top which holds the wheel just slightly below the height needed for the axle to be inserted. Lining up the wheel, the 2 spacers and the disc in the pads is not the easiest and I hate doing it because it can be a real struggle.
