I changed the gearing to 15/48 before a long overland haul - and it just felt much more right compared to the original gearing. First gear was a little low, but else it was very good.
Rode two sets of chain and sprocket on that gearing - each around 30 k kms. Now I have changed to 15/47 and have been riding 2500 kms on it but doesnt feel as good as 15-48. More clutching in junctions and at low speed. But maybe it needs more time to get used to...
Anyhow - gearing depends on what kinda riding you do and of course what you personal feel is right....
