Check the coil! It is a fairly common problem for the coils on XTs to cause problems in damp weather.
Dry it out, seal it with silicone grease, particularly the coil to HT lead joint. Also check the resistance of the primary and secondary windings with a multimeter. We have seen a few coils go bad over the years causing misfires, flat spots and rough running particularly at certain revs.
