Thanks for the reply, i have accessed the rev counter through the diagnostic mode, it shows up ok but just registers 0 all the time so i can only go off the aftermarket one wich show peak revs at about 3200, my son leaves me for dead on his '98 ER500 twin which should also have about 50bhp, it really feels like its hitting a rev limiter or badly restricted air intake.
