Hard to say, everybody's individual circumstances are different. For reference, I do mine once a year, roughly every 10000Km. I'd guess about 10% of that is off road.

The thing to remember is all cotton gauze filters reach their peak filtration after a thousand Km or so. Cleaning too often isn't always a good thing; it can reduce overall filtering efficiency. You just need to strike a balance between air flow and filtering efficiency.

Kev's mod is tested at 20C and the recommended settings given are a guide at that temperature. If the ambient temperature falls the setting needs to be increased, if the temperature goes up the opposite is the case and you should back off the setting.

6 o'clock is about right for a Stage 3 set up at 20C ambient. I found that a drop of 10C from that required the dial to be moved clockwise one position, so 8C would be about 7 o'clock. Below 0C you'd probably looking at moving to 8 o'clock.
