Almost certainly sounds like dicky (or stuck) neutral light switch. The clutch and side stand switches should like they are doing what they should.

It's probably just got stuck in the one position because it was left in gear and spent a long time in one place.

Remove the switch and clean, or... leave it; it may well free itself off if you get the gearbox warm, ride it for a while and go in and out of neutral a few times?
