The speedo sensor is located on the top of the gearbox near the front sprocket (see image). The sensor wires run up to the connector which sits under the tank just above the exhaust valve inspection cover. The wires then run to the right hand side of the bike, joining the main loom which runs down the right to the ECU.
I don�t think it can be the sensor itself at fault here as that is unlikely to be damaged by the bike falling over. It is much more likely that the wiring has been damaged, stretched or the connector disturbed. Depending on the cable (throttle, clutch and electrics) routing, when the bars hit full lock in a fall, they can get quite tight and pull/tug at other parts of the loom putting a strain on things.
I would remove the tank and trace the speedo sensor cable via its connector back to the ECU.
