I know what you mean. The reason for the apparent lack of grunt can be blamed on the greenies. The fuel injection and emissions control systems make for very lean running on most modern bikes, and the XTZ is no exception. The good thing is, the fuelling can be sorted (for surprisingly little outlay)!
Fitting one of Kev's O2 controllers will instantly buy you an extra thousand rpm at the bottom end -

I had one (note the had). It's a nice looking exhaust and sounds sweet, but it's heavy, expensive and more importantly, still contains cats, which nullifies a lot of the benefits of fitting an aftermarket system. IMHO you'd be far better initially ploughing your funds into sorting the fuelling out.
