My bike went in for service recently and they gave me a loan bike (An XJ6F Diversion)

After riding that for 3 days, I swear my bike's taller now!


That ticking (I'm sure) is normal... It's been on my bike as long as I can remember.
I think you've got the 'first time fear'. It'll go away next time you do an oil change
