we recently did have various similar cases in the german forum.
Options: weld a new bracket to the frame or make your own construction from angle and fix it with with the 2 screws of the boot protector (no welding)

Interesting is the fact, that it only seems to happen on XTX`es

Gents, thanks for the quick replies, Larry (the bike, it's a long story lets not go there) has done just under 46000 miles.

No mods to that area so no extra stress involved.

Joe I will use google translate to see what this chap has done but the bolt idea sounds best to me, as I already had it welded once. I wonder if i can get away with just losing a link out of the chain altogether.
