IF, you could get all of the CO2 in the tube it would work fine. In my experience 80% of the gas escapes before you have the little adapters sorted out.

Years ago I had one for the MTB, it had a great adapter fitted with a screw controlled valve. So you fitted the gas canister, then screwed the valve in to pierce the gas, meaning you could have the whole thing assembled before committing.

I've not managed to find such a valve assembly since I left mine somewhere in Borrowdale. But if I could find one.....
