Mine has a few of these spots as well. So far I haven't doen anything about it. But I am interested in possible fixes to.

Yes, it is just glued in and comes out quite easily.

I don't have any bad experiences with the clear stickers so far. just make sure they are nice and warm (use a hair dryer) that makes them easier to stick on nicely and to take off should you need to. The Tenere decall is covered with a clear varnish so it should not get damaged. Not making any promises though
