Slightly off topic, but regarding speed limits.
I failed my first bike test for three things.
I didn't use my brake before turning left - I used engine breaking,
I was indicating.
There was one occasion I didn't use enough fingers on the brake lever - Ok, it's in the rules, I accept this.
But the final mark was for not doing the speed
limit. - I got up to about 65mph, there was a car overtaking a lorry in front (dual carraigeway), so I played 'safe' and didn't overtake waiting for a clear spot, but we turned off before that happened. FAIL.
I passed my second test (following guidance from my instructor)- Pulled away very bloody quick each time getting straight up to
2MPH over the limit, 31/32 in a 30. 42 in a 40 and definately got it up to 70 (72) on the dual roads. Left braking a little late and braked hard using a full hand each time, (Is my brake light on now Mr Examiner? Pass? Yes. Same Examiner.
..... That guy definately saw the signs as a target, 'Making good progress' or something.
I was, althought pleased to pass, well p*ssed, I drove better and safer the first test. (I thought so anyway.)
I use a SpeedoHealer, Correcting my readings using satnav.
Does this mean my milage will be out? There is mention above that this is true.?
Got 16/46 sprockets on now, seems to be correct speedo reading without healing.
