[quote=boneman;178407]My question would be, is all this worth it for 15L vs 19.5L of fuel for a theoretical extra 100km of range?

I can consistently get 300km out of my standard tank on an "adventure ride". With a little Rotopax on the back, I've got the same range as if I'd ruined the look of my bike by fitting a Gillimoto.

And I can take the rack & Rotopax off put it on another bike.

It's an extra 150km range and that is needed in many parts of Aus (if you get out and about that is) instead of having to look for and worry about fuel.

You will not get the same range with one 1 gallon rotopax.
I have done the two 1 gallon rotopax thing which gave me the same range but took up my luggage space.

Ok so it's a 100+km between most towns in Aus so you are looking at stoping every 2hrs or every second town with the standard tank.
Yes you can refuel on the side of the road with the Rotopax and I have done that too but it can be a pain depending where you are.

There are many places where even 400km fuel range is not enough and you know I know where they are. I can still use my Rotopax when I need more range, check the distance from Innamincka to Lyndhurst and you will see what I mean.
So ok if you just want to do short rides than you can stay with the standard tank.
Petenz has pointed out other benefits of the tank as well.

So is the Gilimoto tank worth it; bloody oath it is, I could not do without it and I quite like the look of it.
