Very true...
The Tenere's standard tool bag and kit is quite abysmal and, to be honest, a waste of space.
Must admit that I treated myself (or rather, the Tenere) to a Kriega tool roll (�19 from Zen Overland) and have cherry picked the better quality items (huh, not many then?!) from the Yamaha kit and then added others as-and-when.
Downside is that the Kriega roll is too big for the miserly underseat slot... but, as a rule, I've either got the pannier boxes on or my trusty Wolfman Enduro tankbag to keep things in.
A shame the Tenere doesn't have the very useful underseat storage area of the 660R.
C'mon Yamaha, high time something is done about that!
