SW Motech pegs- Install w/pics

Howdy Folks.

Well I got around to putting on some of my "farkles", including a pair of SW Motech footpegs. I was looking for some footpegs that were "adjustable" so as to get a bit more legroom, so I purchased this expensive set.

I decided to chronicle the installation, because the instruction sheet that came with the pegs is rubbish, IMHO.

Here are the tools you'll need to get the job done- the sizes are: 10mm and 13mm

This OEM bracket stays on the bike, no need to remove it

This bit is what holds the peg and spring together. You'll notice a stamped, "L" on the inside face. The "L" is telling you this piece is for the left side of the bike. Wish I would've known that from the get go, but that is not covered in the instructions, nor did I notice the stamp, at first.

The hole above the stamp is where the OEM spring's straight end fits for tension.

This is how the OEM spring should look, once fitted to the new piece.

The end result. Quite sharp looking! And they fit my size 49 boots better than the stock bits. The rubber pads are removable for off-road duty.

A size comparison

The pegs are stoutly built and I'm very happy with their comfort. I just wish the instructions were plainer, it would have made the job easier.

Hope this helps to get the job done quicker, if you decide to purchase these. Cheers!
