I've measured the MTC @ 3000rpm and it showed as 91db. Now this was on an Android App, so I've no idea how accurate this is, but it does tally fairly well with other known readings. This is with the db killer in too, without the db killer, I can't tell as it destroyed the phone, my hearing and the garage door..... Ok so maybe not quite the door, but it is very loud!
The stock is 90db, or so the EC conformity statement says, so the MTC is slightly louder, about .1 times louder, if my school day physics is right and 100db's is twice the 'loudness' of 90db's. I'm sure someone will come along and correct me if I've cocked it up.
The noise is a different type of noise, stock has much less base, where as the MTC seems to be more of a feel - if you get my meaning.
The best thing to do is find someone with a MTC and listen yourself.
