I think you are missing the point. The Tenere is an all rounder, in fact not many bikes have the all round ability to do it so well.

My Tenere commutes a 60 miler round trip most days in all weathers including snow and ice.

I have had it off road (Im a long way from confident and skillfull) but the Tenere gives me confidence and my abilities will grow without doubt.

I have done long-distance tours and rides including Isle of Skye to Skipton with 2-stops! I arrived home tired but not done for and still had the energy for others things!

Personally I dont think there are many bikes out there at the moment that have this ability especially when you look at the price!

As for the height you can get it lowered, I dont see the point. My inside leg is only 28'' and I manage easily. After all you only put one foot down on the road at lights and when parked up. I didn't feel like it was too high when off road either.
Bum holes i like that comment

For my bum hole (opinion) although i havent tried the tenere (yet) ive had an R and found it a cracker all round bike, that can do the off roading/trails just as good as any other bike or enduro in some cases if its in the hands of the right person. So im on the idea the tenere is not going to be too far from this.

But for some people its not the off roading, style, looks, etc etc it just a bike that they are happy with, isnt a massive multi cylinder bike, has a good enough amount of power, wind protection, comfort, is pleasing enough to look at (how ugly is the gs and look how many people have them), doesnt cost them an arm and a leg to run/service etc

But look at how many more suppose to be 4*4 there are out there that either there driver would cry if it had to go on anything other than a paved road, or once it did go off road would either shake your teeth out/give you piles or the 4*4 would get stuck .

Any who i would still rather someone had a bike (or tenere) then buy a car/4*4
