I have an 07 XTX and it's great, but can't see what's so wrong with an 04. Just follow the extensive guides on here and you'll have it sorted soon, if it isn't already of course.
I actually prefer the look of the pre 07 models with the longer front cowls and slightly rounder bodywork.
Not that I'm offering a swap or anything, but be happy, you've got a great bike. Any pics?
