I just did this mod. I posted about it in the exhaust section in Mods with some pics. (hope i put it in the right section!).

I did read a post where another guy cut the cans open to remove everything. I just used a solid s/s bar and a hammer and big screwdriver...

pretty rough but sounds heaps better now...
