In the absence of specialist tools, do you have a centre stand?
If so, with bike on centre stand in gear, wrap a tie down strap around rear brake pedal and stand leg and pull as tight as poss to lock rear wheel solid. Crack down on long wrench with extension bar supported by an axle stand if neccessary and Bob's your Uncle!

Done it many times without major harm to chain (I think the engine does that!)

Specialist tools are always preferrable though!! ;-)
