I think there's reasonable grounds to suspect that it's down to more than just screen height/shape, and has a lot to do with the airflow coming up through the fork 'tunnel' between the tank and the clocks.

Cheers everyone really useful stuff.....bought the handle bar bag and has stopped quite a bit of the buffeting and i can keep my visor cleaner and cloth in it(bonus),not completely but enough to relax a bit more may still get the spoiler or taller screen as i quite like riding with the visor open sometimes
