I gave up!

Then i realised that it technically wasn't `structural`, it was simply to stop metal banging into metal, so i simply cut the end off and then slotted it in, then applied copious amounts of locktite to it.I`ll keep checking it to see if its still there.

The rest of the stand went on in less time than I had taken faffing around with the ****** lol!

Stand now looks good and works correctly.

Oh and the springs were a doddle.The 2p trick wasnt working, but a length of rope, another pair of hands and they went on in 2 seconds
