It is connected to the side-light circuit, and therefore shares a 10A fuse.

I agree it is strange that the opposite end connector doesn't seem to be available from anywhere - my suggestion would be to either cut the existing connector off and fit a suitable two-pin replacement (that fits a corresponding opposite side), or do what b374 suggests - although what I did was to solder some 1.5mm flat spade connectors to the end of my GPS wires, and they sit in the original connector nice and snug - wrap the whole joint/connector in heatshrink, and the job is, as they say, 'a good un'...
