Im not too far from you for size, 6ft 4 and 16 stone (100kg, then say +10 kg for kit and a few pies!!!)

Ive only just bought a different bike after 3.5 years and around 37k miles of my own riding on my 06 XTR. To say the least i loved the XTR, it had enough power for me at the start and was great for commuting, scratching on country roads, week-2 week solo touring, off roading, etc etc.

After a year or so of ownership i bought a DNA stg 2 and kev fuel mod to A. get a bit more power as the R/XT is a bit underpowered when you are fully loaded and took a far bit wringing of the neck in standard trim and B. by this stage i was use to the bike a bit more so wanted a bit more power for over taking and fun!!!!

I got the bike standard with a tall yamaha touring screen, and at 6ft4 the wind would hit me just on the tips of my shoulder when i was sitting up straight.

Also only recently (around 40k miles) the rear shock has become a bit too soft so i was running a set of raiser links i only used for off roading all the time and allowed a bit for of a stretch at the lights or when getting the feet down.

Apart from this the only other issue i had with the bike was after around 80-100miles the seat feel a bit plankess like, so made my own version of an air hawk from a camping blow up seat. And at 20 was alot cheaper. Allowed me to do 350miles one day on a 2.5week tour/2500mile tour of england.

But i think it really all depends on what you want from the bike? or what your going to use it for?
