i went for 2x spots - i'm happy with the dip beam on the bike, but the high beam has always diappointed me, so i've wired them in to come on with the high beam.

They come with a wiring harness too by the way - i didnt use it as i had already had halogen lamps on the bike so i connected them to the same wires, but the wiring that comes with them is perfectly suitable for LED lights - its a simple setup, just a fuseholder, switch & lamp connections (no relay.)

If you go for combo you may want to just use the harness for the flood pattern lamp -wire it to the sidelights to be on all the time, and snip off the second connector to wire the spot lamp to the main beam directly, do it that way and the flood can be switched on and off. i know the extra high beam lamp should have a switch too, but you can get away with it. also by wiring in the flood to the sidelights it will stay on when you switch to main beam, so you'll have light near & far.

The harness has the waterproof connectors for the lamps on it though, so even if you make up your own wiring you'll want to snip them off and solder them to your new wiring.
