Datatool Alarm

Hi all,
recently got myself a new Ten. It was a showroom demo bike, never riden. It had all the accessories on, non of which i purchased. The dealer took them all off, except the alarm. It is a Datatool S4. As i didn't get charged for it i thought 'Thank you very much, i'll have that'.
Here is the problem:
You press the button and the bike is fully alarmed. Fine. You press the button again and the bike is not alarmed anymore. Fine. For 45 seconds when the the bike realarms itself. This means that, after stopping and turning the ignition off you can spend 45 seconds on the bike before you set off the alarm. You can also turn the movement sensor off but you have to arm the alarm first and then press another button. If you turn the ignition off and leave the key in, wait 46 seconds, and turn the ignition back on the alarm will go off.
Now then. Are all alarms such a pain and impracticle? Has anybody else one of these? Can you turn the swine off? (tried to disconnect only to set it off again and the bike stays immobolised! That is why the dealer never took it off!!!)
Got a lot of bits and pieces to go on the bike but the alarm keeps going off.
And to top it all i told my insurance that an alarm is fitted to the bike, expecting a better rate. Nothing, nill, nichts, not a sausage off. Why bother with the hassle?

If anyone can help turning it off, please.

Rob
