Thanks and apologies to the daddy for posting in the wrong area!
I will confide in you and tell you why I feel like this.
All dealers are crap...........
My bike was delivered with 2 miles on the clock on Saturday, loose bar end weights, toolkit missing, wrong screw without compression limiter in one of the grey panels which I spotted was missing in the dealers and told them they better get the right one for the job, handle bar clamps closed at one end big gaps at the other. Tank has paint defect.....
Dealer has said he will fit new tank and supply tool kit under warranty but I have told him there is no way his staff are working on my bike following the standard of the work I have seen so far. so I await an answer on if they are going to let me fit the new tank myself (i suspect not). If they cannot assemble a few parts onto a bike out of the crate without loosing half of them and incorrectly fitting the others then they aint ever doing any other work to it. I will live with the defect (very minor) rather than let them touch it.
I am a skilled Engineer by trade and a gifted mechanic (not a motormechanic by trade) and most recently put a new clutch in and changed the crankshaft and gearbox oil seals in my boxer twin which is a gearbox strip to component parts job to get the seals in. Some of you will know that to do this on a BMW you have to take the bike almost totally to bits. I know that I am a lot better than any main dealer, and intend keeping the bike for 5 years at least so I dont need a stamp in a book from them if I keep all my receipts.
