Just got my new sat nav, a Garmin Zumo 550 and want to hardwire it in.
I'm gonna use the spare connector behind the instrument panel
My question is:

Do i have to keep the in line fuse on the power supply cable provided or can i cut it down to the length i require as the factory connector should be fused, shouldn't it?

Wiring not my speciality to say the least..............
