Hey Jmac and welcome. The bagster cover is just that, only a cover. The foam itself doesn't get changed. Like you I'm over 6' and find that I'm sat on the back of the seat and find the foam compresses and I'm sat on the base. I've had some quotes for a seat rebuild, but still umming etc...
I see you're in Farnham, I've got a good mate there with a BMW rs. I'll tell him to look out for another Ten.

Thanks tripletom. If you get any joy from the companies quoting I would be interested to know. Likewise I will as well.

Sent you a message mate.

Hi,

Do you have a part number for the 2009 seat ?
I've just rang my local dealer, and he quoted 96 inc the vat for a new seat, and he was 100% sure (?) that the 08 and 09 seats are the same.

thanks

On the German XT660 website, I came along this seat by Kahedo( www.kahedo.com), the saddle and bags supplier for Touratech. This one is +40mm, but also available +10mm or -20mm. Don't know any prices yet(they don't come cheap), but they deliver high quality. You can order straight from them, so you don't have to wait endlessly on Touratech to have the saddle in stock!
Greetz, Hans.

P.s.: just heard the price of the 4cm+ seat: 310,- euro's with exchange of the original seat.

2009 seat

Yam 6, I'm interested to find that you think the new seat is better.

I borrowed one from a dealer today and after around 2 hours figured it was fine but I cant find figure if it is any better( besides for the cover). I have measured and poked and prodded both the 08 and 09 seats but can't figure out if they are different

Do you have confirmation that the foam is different ?

gliout 23-03-09 20:48

Anything about the new seat??? foam is dif or not??

New seat for 2008 XTZ.

Hi Gliout, please see mesage I sent to 'tripletom' below.

"I went down to Saxon and met Dan who quoted me 130 for a complete rebuild of my seat custom made to suit my needs. The following Friday I arrived at 10:30 and Dan looked at the way I sat on the bike and the issues I had and he re-built the seat from the pan up changing the foam to a harder density and re-shaping it to give me more room, better support, and the same ride hight all without compromissing the pillion space. He change all the foam so the pillion benefitted also. The benefit with this personal service over the post it to them type is Dan gets to see you on the bike and you get to sit on the seat as he builds it up so you can tell him how it feels allowing him to modify to exactly match your needs. During the process I got to take the bike with new seat (Temporary cover) for a ride just to make sure the fit was perfect, and I mean perfect as Dan made modifications from my feedback! Without this and if you are not there when a specialist like Saxon rebuild your seat they can only guess at what you need. I was on the road at 14:00 with my new seat and since then have done over 400 miles and I cant express enough what a transformation it has made. For me (and I emphasise for me) this was a perfect job, great service and just what I was looking for. I have had Corbin seats in the past and I would say that this is one better at a fraction of the price."
Jmac.
