Just ordered one Gold color t-from a company called dirt bike express.
I hope that gold goes fine with the beige and black combination.
I wanted to order a titanium, but they said that they only have silver, blue and gold.
Blue is out of question and for silver I found it too shiny. So thought that, if it's gonna
shine let it be gold, not silver.
Have I made a mistake?? Should it be silver??
I guess I still have a few hours before they send it; so ideas are welcome.

Cant remember what colour you bike is.

But a Gold Medalion goes with most colours.....

So I guess it will fit the bike OK.

I have seen Gold Bars and wheels on many different colour bikes so i think they should be fine.

But there again I only see in Black and White... :angel1:

My bike is the beige one; does it goes with gold color?
By the way, the black Barkbusters handguards have arrived.
I am exicted to see all of them on the bike.
As far as I can see; guards and the kit are looking good quality.

Finally, yesterday I have received the handlebar. Today, I will be finishing the installation of, the handlebar, Oxford heated grips and Barkbusters handguards, will send a photo to the forum with the final situation.
Yesterday, I have made the holes on the handlebar -the ones to locate the starters and horn electonic sections-. I have to tell you that the bar is really thick; it took us a long time and still didn't make a hole, but it is enough.
It seems like, the acceleration wires will remain a little bit tight, because the handlebar is slightly longer than the OE one.

Scottnet, I've just fitted the dakar bars tonight to my Ten and found that with the bars on full right lock the throttle cable becomes just too tight. Was that your reason for cutting 10mm off the ends? Just curious before I get trimming or ordering a new cable. It's only the pull cable that's too short, and it's too short rather than able to be adjusted out sadly.

scottnet 09-01-09 08:55

No that was not the reason but that did help. I did notice in the same position as the standard bars the cable was tight on full right lock but I had my bars rolled forward so that solved that.

In the standing position cutting 10mm of each end and rolling foward slightly made for very comfortable rideing. Sitting you stretch just a tiny bit but soon get used to it.

So before ordering new cables I would suggest you try move the controls inwards as far as you can, this will be enough to free up the cable. Then if that all works out you can cut the bars, else you may need a longer cable

Thanks Scott. I did roll the bars as forward as they can go (with my handguards), but after a ride I'm not sure about keeping them. The comfort of the position is spot on, but the vibes at 5k rpm are quite intrusive. I will think some more to see if I can come up with a way of adding weights to the bars.

scottnet 09-01-09 10:23

Fairly easy to add weights see my post http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...Weights&page=3

tripletom 09-01-09 11:12

Did the weights stick outside of the KTM guards scott? I've got wraparound guards similar to barkbusters, and to be honest any wider and it'd be even more hassles getting in and out of the shed. I might try extending the outer bolt and adding nuts to the inside of the bar.

scottnet 09-01-09 11:17

Yes the weights stick out just as they do on the original bars, so overall the width is no wider than the original setup.

May need a bigger shed ?
