Initial impression: Less road buzz than the OEM Tourance, slow speed control on cornering feels better than OEM, but that could simply be due to the poor shape the Tourances were in by the time I replaced them.
Final thoughts: Generally the handling was good, however, the rear did square off quite quickly, tread depth was very low on replacement. Front tyre tread was still good on replacement, but heavy cracking between treadblocks suggested that the tyre was prematurely aging.

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: Tyres still had 2-3 mm tread left in the centre but the front was getting sevearly scalloped/feathered which is why they were both changed (changed to BT45 so opted to replace both). Generally offered good grip but could sometimes slip on wet roads when cold. Dual Sport tread gives a little bit too much 'grip' on cat-eyes and road imperfections leading to a more instability on poor sufaces than a normal road tyre.

Initial impression: Exclusively a road tyre. Almost no road buzz, probably due to tread pattern. Behaves well in wet conditions.
Scrubbed in: Took a while to get the pressures (exactly) right. Rubber compound is a little harder, less sticky than the trailmax, but hopefully more hard wearing, still good once warmed up.

Intermediate impressions: Handles well, I can throw it into corners and expect to come out the other end.

Final Impressions: Squarer than a square thing on St Spongebob's day by the time I hit 9000miles, with attendant handling problems in corners and on overbanding. No punctures or other issues, just completely worn out.

Since owning the bike I have ridden mainly in the rain but on several occasions I have ridden in the dry. The rear has squared off badly so my experience with them is not representative. I can only say they offer little comfort in rain where as other tyres give more confidence. In the dry they were fine. As it was ruining my riding experience at 3mm left on both both front and rear I am getting them replaced with a more road biased tyre.

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: Skinny profile makes the tyres agile but a bit wimpy looking (especially on the rear). Grip is excellent due to dual compontd in both dry and wet however and whitelining is fairly minimal. Hard compound in the centre seems to offer average life however with the sides offering increaced grip (and presumably less life but don't get to test that much on the motorway).
Front BT45 has now done 14k miles and still has 2-3mm tread left but as starting to show signs of scalloping/feathering so may be replaced soon.

For straight road riding I would highly recommend these. Excellent handling, stability and confidence both wet and dry due to silicon and dual compound design.

On the bike when I bought it at 2866 miles old, presumably the OE tyres. Replaced when rear squared off and hit wear markers, was still a bit of life in the front. Perfectly capable on road - could push as hard as I want to on a bike like the Ten'. Utterly useless in anything muddy.

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: Was very pleased with them on road, ok-ish off but I did mostly fire roads and not very demanding terrain. No mud action tho. Ok-ish on sandy terrain. Changed with somewhere between 1mm or 2mm left on the back but the back was starting to skid a lot on braking on tarmac. Front looked like 50%. They were pretty squared off, although i do ride twisties quite hard, motorway use ( sometimes with pillion ) squared them pretty much. Funky feeling after they got squared when leaning the bike, seemed to want to fall after some leaning. Got a bit weird too when applying throttle when lean. Switched for the moment to Heidenau K60 or Mefo Explorers depending where you live due to colder / rainy weather coming.

Front was still OK. Will change in the new year. Edit: Changed front at 7,900 miles and it was on the limit markers – surprised just how quickly it wore out the last few mm. Was expecting to get nearer 9,000 miles from it. Front also replaced with fresh Tourance. Might try different tyre next time, maybe k60s

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: Made the bike feel very slow to tip in at the front until the tyres had worn in, in ca. 500 miles. Did well to shed snow, and gripped ok on all but the deepest snow I found. A bit slidey on the road in the wet, and didn't have the same dry cornering grip as the more road biased tyres. Did exactly what I hoped from them.

Squared off quite quickly and the tread began to crack and blocks lift off. There was still plenty of tread left when I removed them but the cracking tread and desire to remain upright meant they had to come off

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: Better then Sirac off road... quite similar on road... about half the price and 60% life. Back got squared off due to high speed riding and i don't like the feeling of it when leaning right now... Front is still good, i'm keeping it and only replace the back for a K60Scout 140/80 - that's more likely an 130/80 if you actually measure them... hopefully this will be as good as the regular k60 offroad and more lasting... price is clearly higher also for the 130/80 version... but i think lately about all tyres got a bit more expensive.

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: Front still good for a bit but rear stuffed for off-road use. Great tyre for my sort of riding and will return to it.

Just returned from a five day, 100 mile a day off road trip. Before this trip I replaced the worn TKC rear with a Mitas C02. Very knobbly indeed with a tread depth of 27mm. The contact patch with the road is very small and combined with the tread depth the road manners of this tyre are terrible. That said, off road there was more grip that i could wave a stick at. I am removing it for storage until next required rather than shred it on tarmac. I do dabble with our local lanes in between trips away, so am fitting another TKC as they have very good road manners for the winter months.

FINAL COMMENTS ON TYRES PERFORMANCE: The back - good at the beginning, tried the 140/80 hoping it will last more due to the band on the middle... it does last more but when you reach the band it's not that good anymore. Good tire on road, ok off road in the beginning (I wore most of it on road unfortunately :( ). However I can't give a fair judgement on performance offroad due to riding mostly street when new, I did a bit more offroad to the end of it's life but wasn't happy with it - once you hit the central band is not impressive at all. Switched to TKC80. Not quite apples to apples due to different wear but it seems way better offroad.

Did a great job with evrything except the deep mud. But nothing is going to save you with 200kg bike and deep mud. Front MT21 is still kicking and will be my tyre of choice for the front from now on.
