Problem about even getting into the diagnostic mode is I hold the select and reset buttons, turn the key on and after about 5-6 seconds it just changes the time. the select button seems to work on its own but will not work when its combined with the reset button

any body had this issue before?

trying to test if the fan is working as my bike seems to be running very hot and ive found the radiator cap is leaking but not sure the fan is working.

If you have an XT660Z you can not go into Diagnostic mode via the dashboard (as explained on the previous page of this thread).
You need to get the Yamaha F1 Diagnostic Tool which can be bought off eBay

D05 just shows the actual AIT reading (what the ECU is seeing/reading) on the dash (X/R) or diagnostic tool (Z). The idea is you use a thermometer to measure ambient temperature close to the intake, or even better the temperature actually inside the airbox (you'll need a digital thermometer with a probe to do this), then compare the two readings. The reading in D05 should be within a few degrees of that on your thermometer. If they're wildly different, then you've got an issue needing further investigation.

When you testing 09 you must turn on red button (Kill Switch) then it will show voltage readings.

Can anyone shed a little light on a error 03 and flashing coolant light? Struggling to find a definitive answer. Appreciate any help. Thanks Adam.
