I have just returned from a break and am very busy so they will have the bike for the next couple of weeks. The prices are not out yet and I would suggest contacting them direct for more info rather than speculate. I am promised a set of pannier frames for letting them use my bike as a guinea pig and expect to get more freebies.

......like a discount on some panniers!

How long are they keeping your bike?? Last time i calculated for my XTR a set of panniers + rails + the 2 into 1 pipe it was over 1000, prices have went up from then. I would be hoping to get a few more freebies than just some pannier rails (normally around 200-250 or so) either that or some heavy discounting on the other items

I have said that they can have it for another couple of weeks as I will not have the time to ride it. I will be working 7 days a week for the forseeable future and cannot bear to see it and not be able to play. I am self employed and take work as I get it so the trade of is that I will spend a lot of time later on in the year biking. .................and yes i will get a good deal on more bits!

Pannier piccys tomorrow.

I am fortunate to have a set of panniers and a top box already.

As there is obvious interest I will take some detailed pictures and post them tomorrow.

I'm still waiting for touratech to come up with a panniersystem.
I like the panniers from SW-Motech doh.

Within 3 weeks I'm going to the French and Italian Alps with some friends (KTM's :fing23:and a transalp) and without girlfriend. My Ortliebbag and a small backpack will do just fine for now.

I'm going on a "less is more" trip:thumbleweed:

But I will need panniers, because my girlfriend doesn't want to carry any luggage on her bike:120:

So, I'm always the mule on our trips
girls....tsssssss

I emailed Touratech UK a while ago and here is their reply:

Hi,

We will definitely be bringing parts out for the new Tenere but at present I don’t think this will be until maybe early to mid next year.

Sorry I can’t give you any more info on this .

Regards,
Neil

Doesn't look too good. I'm contemplating building my own panniers, but I will have to buy a ready made rack.

@Molgan:rofl[1]:

@klonkie: That's sad news, Touratech is to much bussy with BMW I think

SW-motech maybe.

panniers

I've ordered a Hepco and Becker system for mine, and although it's not arrived yet, it should be here within the next three weeks, apparently. I'm happy to go with this firm, as I've used their stuff before and quality is superb. You can order through http://www.motobins.co.uk/ , they also do a centre stand.
I have tried Touratech too, for other stuff, but as has already been mentioned, they only seem interested in BMW at the moment.

Got my Yamaha panniers today. They look and feel solid though I don't think they can take impact to the same level as let's say Touratech. Fits the bike well and the minimalistic mounting kit is sweet. One huge disappointment is the key lock, feels way too cheap for something that cost me like 900€. The plastic lever I need to press to get the key out after mounting/releasing the cases have no feedback and getting the key out of the lock never works on the first attempt. Not an appealing thought to be standing in the wet and cold with the key stuck in the case unable to open it one day.

My advice would be to save some pennies and go for aftermarket panniers if you haven't already ordered. Got a sweet deal on mine though so I'm not in tears. :)

Edit: And now when I see how badass they look on the bike I forgive all their flaws. :D

Thx Molgan for the advise:045:
