Great stuff Jon...your Tenere must be the hardest working, knarliest Ten out there!. And that is the biggest pannier I've ever seen! Steve

Cheers guys, Daisy is a tough old girl. She takes a licking and keeps on ticking. At weekend i had too tow a dead 990 adv out of the bottom of 3 shires head in the peaks. Sadly i dont have any pics as everyone seemed in such awe of the teneres biblical grunt. None of them thought too take any pictures.

They said it couldnt be done. "no way, it doesnt have the power" But at 3k rpm the ten pulled half a ton of bike and 250 kg of riders along a technical green lane and up 2 miles of peak district roads to where the RAC agreed they would pick up the ****ty 990. I did toast my clutch in the process. But still pretty heroic for a bike that barely makes 50 bhp.

The Panniers are the 2nd gen for me. 4mm alloy seam welded, dimensions are 300mm wide, 350mm deep and 550mm long. I got a local sheet metal worker to knock them up for me after i did him a few plastic Foreigners.

Haha the horn was/is a bit of a joke. Daisy failed her MOT because the horn terminals had corroded away. The mot guy said ye had one kicking about but it was in his words "funny looking" 5 fitted it in car park and been using it for 2 years now.

The bash plate, really earns its money it has been removed. Hammered/pressed flat countless times. The rear alloy lugs kept snapping so i removed them. Made a stanliess mount and riveted it too the alloy part of the bashplate with 20 yes 20 rivits. Never broken since.

I powdercoat the steel crashbar part.along withy pannier frames JCB yellow once a year around this time too protect from the worst of the weather.

I cannot imagine a bike that could replace the Tenere. It is a little bit special.
