I know I'm gonna get blasted for this but... I'm afraid (in my opinion) my head is worth more than 100... Arai for me.

Even assuming expensive helmets are always better, are you sure in case of accident, the supposed "extra protection" of the hyper expensive helmet plays a role ?. I am not confident at at that in case I had an accident and managed to destroy the S4, an Arai would make the situation different. The rest of injuries would probably bad enough anyway. I am not a helmet expert so this are just personal thoughts |
Airoh have been making helmets that way in Italy for many many years and they guarantee safe crash impact strength as any other helmets.

that helmet is super hot. I'm on a seriously clunky flip up visor VR1 at the moment. The rubber stripping started coming off the sides this weekend, and I haven't even exposed it to that much high speeds.

Hello Darth Vader!! I am looking for a new helmet, and that Airoh is one of the candidates. It has relatively large lid, how it behaves at higher speeds?
|
Aerodynamic was one of the idea behind the design as this helmet which replaces the previous type called the Airoh Tyger
http://www.bikingdirect.com/product/...er-helmet.html The Tyger was slightly noisier and bulkier, I have both and this one seems to be a great improvement from the previous, but don't forget any lid with a peak is bound to catch wind and at high speed (90mph+) it does tend to hiss when the wind is caught under the peak, I know of a lady who used to wear an Arai Tour X on her streetfightered fazer 600 and ended up with whiplash on her neck which her doctor blamed to the lid with a peak she was wearing. Therefore its not just Airoh that causes turbolence but Arai, HJC, or any other helmet with a peak.
