Hi,

I did read that post but got drawn into the tool tube you created. Think you should sell them on ebay, I'd snatch one up!

Thanks for the link, I dropped them a message for current prices. Exhaust does look nicer.

I was also admiring your high mudguard/low half mudguard. Def a mod for winter, running the high guard at the mo.

Please keep the informative posts coming!

Thanks,
Penfold

tacked to the link pipe and i,am running the perforated baffle not the

Hi Beany,

Not sure I follow, MTC supplied a mod to you which you fitted yourself?

How loud is the exhaust in your opinion? Exhausts can pass the MOT but still be unpopular in the residential areas!

Do you have any luggage fitted to your bike? Any issues with heat or clearances.

Thanks,
Penfold

Hi,

Thanks for that. Contacted MTC on eBay and then by phne to get no response in 2 workng days to a couple of questions. Little disappointed so took Pleiades (expensive!) advice and went for the nice looking, quieter Exan exhaust from mad4exhausts.com. The guys have been very responsive to all of my questions and despite being Italian are cheaper than UK stockists of the same products.

Looking forward to the new bit of kit now!

Cheers all,
Penfold

Hi,

Despite ordering it weeks ago, I'm still waiting for my new exhaust to arrive. Getting impatient now! Hopefully it'll arrive by Friday as it was dispatched yesterday. Once it's fitted I'll post an update on how it sounds and how the bike feels.

Ordered an Exan too

I just ordered an Exan oval carbon cap in Ti finish today. I may use soft panniers at some point in the future and therefore need to attach a heat shield to the end can. I figured oval was a more uniform shape than the X Black one they do and more likely to accept a strap on heat shield.

Before ordering I contacted Exan and they confirmed their pipes work fine with the OE hard panniers.

Hi,

I've posted an update in Pleiade's thread ( http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...d=1#post200734) about the Exan exhaust as it's not strictly on topic with the MTC exhaust thread here.

Get yourself either a bracket made up or a long M8 fastener, 100mm long is too long. 75mm is more than sufficient.

Did you go through mad4exhausts or the UK distributer? A bit slow, presumably waiting for bits to arrive from manufacturer as once dispatched it was here within 3 workings day (dispatched Tuesday, arrived today).

FYI - They never carry the posh ones (titanium, black stainless, X-Black) in stock for the Z (just the basic oval stainless), they are ordered in from Exan direct when you place your order, which is why it takes a while and once they have it, it ships quickly.
