Tkc
Front one to be precise !!!
Love them as an all round tyre , just got 7k kms out of the back but the fronts always WEDGE UP !!! I spoken to a few guys who've turned the tyre round and its worked fine So here's my question ................nawt to do with tyres really !! Can the front wheel on the XTZ be put on ANY WAY ROUND ????? It'd save taking the tyre of ............;much easier job Cheers Phil |
Great question watching for an intelligent response, which I'm not going to provide.
Would help counter tyre creep. |
I'll give it try anyway, if the spacers are the same each side i can't see why it wouldn't work !!
Then again i'm only a rag arse brickie :pjrflash_Q2CCBE: |
Looking in the spare parts catalog it looks like there is a very good chance that it will work for the non abs version (the abs has a different hub and space for the abs sensor ring)
The spacers are different left/right so you'll have probably have to keep the spacers int the old order on the axle and the see if it will fit the hub. Should be easy to see if the spacers fir and the brakes aligns or not :-) |
Cheers, i'll take a look tomorrow

The tyre is directional, so it won't be the right way round if you turn the wheel round! Also bear in mind that if you rotate the wheel the brake pads won't be bedded in as they be working on a different disc.
|
Tyres not directional Pleiades !! back is , but did consider pads not sitting in right !!! but new ones are on there way.
I'll give it a go and let you all know how i get on , unless it kills me :confused1: |

Sounds an interesting idea Phil. I've got a TKC on the front as well.
I was thinking that about the pads and discs. Daft thought, but could the pads be swapped around as well? that way they might require less bedding in - or am I being stupid :smilies0943: My front is bi directional as well as when fitting it last month I couldn't for the life of me find an arrow. |
Yeh , thats a wierd one Pleiades , must have had a dozen TK fronts and never seen an arrow !!
Not being stupid in my book Aliwakeskate, and i like your thinking . All that said , when you fit new pads they need bedding in any way !!! so unless you've got really bad groved discs i can't see any problems .............................or am i being stupid ?????? |
