Also would the EXP be better positioned in the middle of the pack in this scenario?

from memory the rekluse unit can exspand 2.5/3mm
i would try 1mm of clearance to see how it goes..
Or so yer can wiggle the plates with yer finger...
be a bit of trial & error to get it right...
yer could also put a couple of belvue washers
on each spacer to give a slight cushion..
belvue washers are cuped spring washer...

quite easy to do as i just lay the bike on it side
& remove the cover.... no draining oil etc...

not sure if putting the unit in the middle would give any
advantage.... but can't hurt to try......

Afternoon Pete (it is here) I have bought a used Rekluse from ebay but unfortunately the springs are blue and gold (gold being heavier than blue) im concerned about the lack of engine braking with the blue springs did you ever try use with blue fitted?

Petenz 09-11-16 06:06

the red could be in the unit....

undo the four 1/4 turn screws the springs are under them...

Already had it apart to take the 3 gold out and put the remaining blue in (it had 3 of each fitted).
There is an invoice stating what was in the clutch kit thats how i know the gold springs are heavier than the blue. I have been thinking that because the bike will only be for road use it might not be a problem?

Have the clutch set up sheet RMS6076 and have an invoice. Set up sheet for this kit says the blue springs are for low engagement where the invoice say they are Heavy springs.

i would put all blue in it...
mine had blue & red springs no gold..
prob changed the colour..
is it a EXP 2 or the newer 3 ?
mines a 2....

frontslide 10-11-16 10:31

Its a 3 for 2010-11 if you look at page 2 in the pdf link at the end of my last post it shows the adjustment table.

Petenz 10-11-16 12:29

low , med , high whats what...
may need to try low then high
to see what works for you...
you want the softest springs in it for the XT..
there are heavyer wedge weights
that will genarate more force at low revs..

keep in mined the XT is a slower , lower reving
motor than the YZF..
