Welcome to the Club. With regards to the wind/turbulence coming up through the front, depending on your height and the position you sit on the seat, yes it can come straight up and interfere with the flow over the screen. It was a major issue for me, and after many rides with me putting my hands in that area to cover the wind and test what i can and cant do, the simplest solution for me (and one that had more benefits that just diverting the air flow) was to install a tank bag. The tank bag i use is a GIVI T489 with a tanklock and its soft so even though the handle bars touch at lock as its soft it isn't a concern (but this hardly happens unless your manoeuvring around the garage) and as the bag i have has adjustable plate on the bottom you can get the position right and it blocks the wind, well it still get through but the shape of the tankbag diverts it out the side and in a different direction so it doesn't end up buffeting your head. Much better to ride at speed now! The bag is worth about $100 and the tank ring is a yamaha BF05, about $20. Here is the link to my bag http://www.givi.it/soft-luggages/Tan.../T489-TANKLOCK and another that also works that a friend of mine has http://www.givi.it/soft-luggages/Tan...TPH02-TANKLOCK To be honest any of the GIVI tank bags will work i think, only issue is you might have is you might have to cut the bit of the plastic around the base ring so it clears the key. I didnt but my fiend did, all depends on where you position the bag on the tank lock (i.e more forwards or more toward the rear)

Other than that i sure there are many other solutions but this one is perfect for me as it carries all my stuff, phone, wallet, keys etc

Oh and try your local bike shop and fit the ring and bag and go for a spin and see if it works before you buy. Most shops will let you try it out.
