Gauging interest for an SE meet and Dyno day
Evening all.
Been chatting to my mates who work in a bike shop that has and runs a dyno. They reckon we could do a dyno day there no problem sooooo I was wondering how much interest there would be for a South East meet up in Spring to include a ride out to High Wycombe and a dyno run to see who makes what ;) As I said I want to gauge interest via this thread first before committing to anything so let us know if you keen and we can sort something out. Nice one :D F |
Im intrestD
|
Now that is a great offer.
|
Great initiative! Well done
  |
The weather is getting better by the day now chaps, roll up roll up, this will be fun if do it!
|
I'd be up for that.
I seem to remember that there was a day like this arranged last year. Not sure if that happened or not. |
Don't know about last year but it sure would be nice if we could get something together this year!
|
Yes mate. I'm definately up for it!! Quick ride down from Hammersmith, London.
|
So just a cheeky update on this. We can do up to 10 bikes in the morning and the cost will be a nominal 30 squids. Your money will buy you a Pro dyno run by one of Britains well known racers and tuners. His feedback on your machine and a full report of your results. Ideas for tuning and a 10% discount on any parts purchased instore. I would ideally like 5 or more members to be involved to make it a fun days riding and a good dyno run for comparisons... Looking forward to more responses :)
Nice one. Feck |
South East .............that's practically the bleeding Midlands ;)
Whereabouts were you thinking of meeting up? |
Either in the outskirts of west london, ace cafe or somewhere convenient for the A40 so we can take a nice ride up to High Wycombe. We can either go straight up the A40 or I can take us on a little detour route some rather excellent B-roads in and around Berkshire/Buckinghamshire. Again this all hinges on participation and where is convenient for most people to get to...
lol @ the 'bleeding Midlands' comment. |
*bump*

A "SE" meet is a good idea.
Not too bothered about the Dyno test. Not really interested in how much power my Tenere makes - I know it's not much and that it's no street racer. I didn't buy it for it's power output or performance! |
Fair enough mate, a dyno run can be useful if u r fettling things or just after effeciency from ur machine. I am keen for a meet sometime this summer, perhaps we can even get the captain out of bed ;)
|
count me in for this, sounds like it could be a good day.
|
If I can get time of work. Count me in,
not interested in the dyno, but it will b fun to meet fellow xt's. |
Good idea, I'm in.
PP :041: |
Right, nice to see some interest in a SE meet.
I reckon this has diverged into 2 potential things. I am going to start a list for those who have expressed interest in a meet. Let`s do the meet and discuss the dyno day there, seems the most practical way to go about it. Also would be cool to know where all are so we can work out where the most convenient place for a meet actually is ;) So list is as follows so far, just copy and paste the list to add your name : 1. feck 2. alpine100 3. Dick Dastardly 4. Justin Powell 5. uk_nick 6. fac191 7. mudrock 8. pilotpaul 9. 10. |
Im coming from sunny Brum, i might be able to talk my mate in to it aswell but need a date as we work shifts, i will be fitting pcv & filters to my already fitted Acro's in the next few days so a Dyno would be a helpfull addition, Thanx Feck

Dyno Meet.
I will be coming from North London.
|
Any ideas as to dates yet?
Getting close to holiday season and trips away etc. Could do with penciling in something soon. |
So long as it's before May 14 as I'm off and away for several weeks after that. I'd be interested seeing if my mods have made any difference (Stage 2 DNA airbox, Kev fuel mod, removed cat from exhaust).
1. feck 2. alpine100 3. Dick Dastardly 4. Justin Powell 5. uk_nick 6. fac191 7. mudrock 8. pilotpaul 9. Tim Cullis 10. |
Evening all. How does the first or second Saturday in May sit with everyone?
|
I am up for the first week of May, the 5th,
Sorry the second weekend,12th, is my partner birthday, so that's out for me, |
First is good with me as the second Saturday is Lakes weekend.
|
Saturday 5 May is good for me, so long as I can get the bike back together by then...
(currently stripped down for extended TLC). |
May the 5th looks good to me
|
Sat 5th May is good for me at the moment.
|
Sorry chaps, 5th May is bad for me :BangHead:
Looks like I'll me missing out this time around...... Have fun ! Paul |
Evening all.
Nice to see this coming together. So I have booked the dyno from 2pm on the 5th of May, as far as I can see there are about 5 of us who want power runs. I was thinking we could all maybe meet up somewhere like the H-cafe : http://www.h-cafe.co.uk/ at around 10/11am, have a nice breakfast/coffee/cig/chat then go for a nice little ride around the chiltern hills, which have some awesome roads. Then those that want to go to the bike shop for the dyno run or just to browse bike stuff can make our way over to High Wycombe for 2pm. I reckon this will be the best way to do it as we can get a bit of a SE/Midlands meet in as well as the dyno session. The cost of the dyno run and information will be a nominal 30 on the day and the shop will give all members 10% discount on anything purchased on the day. Let me know how this sits with everybody and also if you all could please add/delete ur names from the list and add in brackets whether or not you on for dyno or not. I am looking very forward to meeting all of you and having a lovely ride with some other XT`s and their riders. Nice one chaps! F. |
Im a defo & my mate coming on his xt aswell
& we both want a Dyno done. Is this only Open to Xt's or if a mate on a sports bike wanted to tag along is that allowed? It might even make him want one. |
All sounds good for me, looking forward to the day,
On a dyno, do the chaps do any tuning? Or is it just about getting a nice gragh? Thanks |

Evening all.
This is looking good! @ Alpine100 : The more the merrier I think :D @ Mudrock : It is just a Dyno run, tuning will obviously take up more tech time and cost more, although with the knowledge base we have behind us in XT660.com, a Dyno run will help you see where your tuning is going and what you can do improve your HP/Torque ;) @ Dick Dastardly : The H do a good breakfast and a good coffee last time I was there :) So I have taken the liberty of updating the list as far as can see from reading the thread, if everybody involved could cast their eye over and update as necessary I think we are A for away peeps. Nice! F. 1. feck ( Dyno) 2. alpine100 + 1 ( Dyno) 3. Dick Dastardly (Dyno) 4. Justin Powell 5. uk_nick 6. fac191 7. mudrock ( Dyno?) 8. Tim Cullis 9. 10. |
it may persuade me to fit the great motor that is in my signature....so far, not in the bike.......can we do a ride out too?? Great idea..
|
come along champ, the biggest point of the whole exercise is a rideout and a meetup, basically if you come, dedicate the day ;)
|
Can't make the 5th of May!!
Sorry guys 5th of May will be at work. The weekend after will be attending the Lakes weekend. So maybe the next time around. Cheers!! Enjoy the ride!!
1. feck (Dyno) 2. alpine100 + 1 (Dyno) 3. Dick Dastardly (Dyno) 4. uk_nick 5. fac191 6. mudrock (Dyno?) 7. Tim Cullis 8. 9. 10. |
feck, you have a good spirit and good idea, sadly I am away fly fishing this particular weekend, BUT.. if you have another one, plus i get myself back into biking properly,(well im off to the IOM TT, so I SHOULD BE after that!) then it would be great. Hope it goes well, and you bring on another day!:002:

quite jealous of your TT mission! Keep an eye out for the new Norton they are developing this year... looks interesting. Dude I have just read your sig line and that motor looks amazing!!! where did you get all the bits to do the conversions and what not? Pity you can`t join but there will be more, I reckon it will be grand to do a regular-ish meet for anyone who wants to. Anyways, ta for the update and get that biking amp back ;) |
Thanks for reply,
I am still up for it, But I think I shall pass on the dyno run. |
