a +1 on that need to know! If it doesn't fit what's the best alternative a spade connector by itself?
|
I chopped the original connector off and used a two-way weather proof connector from here...
http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.e...connectors.php These are very strong, totally vibration and water proof and don't need any special tools to fit. I'd avoid spade connectors, they suffer from water ingress, corrosion and fatigue in the wire where they crimp. |
Hi, I wanted to show you how I installed a USB power source using the spare connector under the dash panel.
First, I chopped off the original connector, because I couldn't find anything nice which would fit that original connector. I used as a replacement these Hitachi 2 way connector found on eBay. http://zak.li/linked/ten/cockpit1.jpg http://zak.li/linked/ten/cockpit2.jpg http://zak.li/linked/ten/cockpit3.jpg http://zak.li/linked/ten/cockpit4.jpg At the end I have, thanks to BurnsMoto (!!), a waterproof USB power socket for charging my iPhone or spare batteries on the go ;-) Cheers! |
