:Christo_pull_hair:.....after two years of work, and everyone complaining about the Surging.....

p.s. Paul...hopefully you will get my map soon !!!!

buzzlightyear 02-10-10 08:16

will this work on 660Z as well or does it not need it?

Paul Curtis 02-10-10 08:57

Richard have you added your map to the list on this site ??

dazmatic 02-10-10 09:50

good point Paul, can't remember if mine has been added.

richardsracingmad 02-10-10 09:55

No, Paul, I haven't posted a map as the dyno's CO meter wasn't reading correctly, i will be re-doing the dyno soon....hopefully with this Mod fitted....I haven't bothered posting a map which isn't brilliant

Paul Curtis 02-10-10 20:36

Do you think this mod will cure the stalling as well as the surging ??

richardsracingmad 02-10-10 20:37

yep...mines an "08" bike

Kev 03-10-10 03:02

I really only post fuel maps in the map section that have been made on the dyno, I haven't even loaded the 10 other fuel maps that I have that were made with my wide band commander with different mod combinations.

dazmatic 03-10-10 08:59

Ahaa, thats fair enough matey.

Don't have a dyno in these parts :009:

richardsracingmad 03-10-10 09:08

err...Kev?

This is going to stop my bike cutting out, when I roll off the throttle, isn't it? I suppose we can't be sure, but I hope it does.......

My ECU is the "10"

I think my ECU is the "11"....not 100% sure, but will confirm it.....

If you get a custom made fuel map made & it is mapped all the way to idle then it should not cut out with the now mod.

I have ridden nearly 800 miles with the new O2 sensor mod with my 11 ECU & my bike has not cut out once, how has yours gone Nigel?. Once I have finished the testing I will build a few different PC maps to go with the mod & we can add Nigels to the list.

dazmatic 03-10-10 09:35

Mines been absolutely fine. No stalling or cutting out.

I had mapped mine with the autotune to idle aswell as it was running a bit rich at idle and it sorted that out completely.

richardsracingmad 03-10-10 09:39

hey guys...just checked...my ECU is a "10". revs at 1450. still cuts out Kev.

the trouble is, we know my bike isn't correctly set up on the custom map...so this could be a Red Herring, so to speak....when your mod is ready, and fitted on my bike, only then will I get it re-dyno'd.

dazmatic 03-10-10 09:46

the Idle might be a little low, think I have mine set at about 1600.

By the way, thought you had an 11 ECU Richard?

"my bike is a 2008 fitted with a standard 5VK-8591A-11 ecu....for information purposes...."

richardsracingmad 03-10-10 09:49

i know...i was wrong....i think i got muddled up when i was looking at the other engine i bought, and was looking at another ecu....
Sorry, i will edit that post now!!!

dazmatic 03-10-10 10:01

No worries mate. Just threw me off cause 11 ECU's are fitted to 09 onwards and 10's for 07-08.

V_Elemento 03-10-10 14:02

Greetings
First congratulations for their work and dazmatic kev .. I have a 2008 with power 3, exhausts and filters would also be interested in the sensor.

It is a very nice mod, a must-have in my opinion, but also remember that it requires a power commander. I don't know how many of all xt owners that run one currently (?). I will get a PCIII as soon as I can, and after that I will definitely want an O2 emulator before mapping it.

dazmatic 04-10-10 22:36

Well, actually, I'm not so sure about that.

This mod essentially prevents the surging from happening in the first place by stopping the bike from going into closed loop.

The bike will run with the mod, just without the surging. The added bonus is that if wished, you can map the full RPM range with a power commander and as I've found myself, my bike runs a bit lean with my mods and my power commander and autotune has remapped it, so you might even get away with just a Kev mod if a power commander isn't viable for yourself.

I'm not entirely sure about that mind, it's getting late and my head's banging to think to much.

But I'm sure Kev when he's about can clear things up with a fresh mind!

Paul Curtis 26-10-10 11:11

Any more news please

Hmm from this post I was under the impression that Kev wasn't going to make this mod:

Or have I misinterpreted things? I hope I have, because I would want one :)

Kev was referring to removing the Rev limiter I believe.

Oh, well that makes more sense :D

O2 sensor

Well Done two you both ,hope this will go in to production because I would like one.:clap:Gareth.:thumbsup[1]:

richardsracingmad 26-10-10 22:55

Yep...has to be the No.1 mod for later XT's.......I'm SO suprised at the little interest in it .....

richardsracingmad 29-11-10 04:41

I hope the product trials are coming along.....

what's happened to Dazmatic? Haven't seen any posts from him for a while.

dazmatic 29-11-10 09:42

I'm still about :happy7:

My babys been put into hibernation. Wont be doing much on it untill the new year I dont think.

Not to mention my attention has been switched to other things like my apprentiseship, my home built guitar amp and my newly found love :love6:

richardsracingmad 29-11-10 09:59

Well I am not getting my bike out until all the salt is gone off the roads either.

So that probably means springtime now. But I would like to get one of these mods anyway.

Kev 29-11-10 10:53

The mod has progressed quite a bit, so far so good, with a few testers around the world still testing the mod for me under different weather conditions. The mod has changed completely from the original design from being fully electronic to a mod that has only has two wires & is connected directly to the cooling system.

I will let you guys know when I will release this mod, I just need to make 100% sure that this mod will work under all weather & riding conditions.

I am busy building Power Commander fuel maps to suit this mod, so for those that have a Power Commander you can load a fuel map that will be close to your setup. I also need more time & testing with my fuel mod & this O2 mod.

richardsracingmad 29-11-10 12:39

that's cool Kev...no rush...I'm just chomping at the bit ....:016:

Great news! I wasn't sure if you would proceed with making this mod available. I think that the interest in this mod will skyrocket once it is official, despite seemingly low interest at the moment. Because the interest of having the XT running as smooth as possible really is a concern for most riders.

Gareth Russell 29-11-10 20:28

O2 sensor

Hi Kev,
No worrys mate take your time, cant wait for the result.
:YouRock:

Kev 14-12-10 11:54

Anyone interested in the new O2 2010 Kev mod who has a Power commander fitted to their bikes. I have finished testing the mod & have built a few maps to go with the 02 mod.

For the guys that don't have power commanders I am now doing testing with my own fuel mod at the moment so watch this space.

If you are after a O2 mod & have a Power Commander send me a PM as I have only a limited stock at this stage, I will send you the fitting instructions before you buy one to see if you can fit the mod. You only need to cut one wire at the engine ECU, the mod fits inline into the cooling system to read a true coolant temperature, you leave your O2 sensor installed & connected or you can remove it totally & fit a blanking plug.

The NEW O2 MOD ONLY FITS XTX & XTR 2007 TO 2010 XT'S AT THIS STAGE.

If you own a 2007 to 2010 XTX/R with O2 sensor, this O2 mod will reduce your surging by around 95%, it turns off the closed loop circuit & allows you to adjust the Air/Fuel ratio across the whole fuel map, you will need a fuelling device with this mod..

richardsracingmad 14-12-10 12:36

Kev...It sounds like it is progressing really well
..or is this the Official Announcement???
and I have a PC111...but there is so much road salt down..I am leaving riding my bike a while......but I would have loved to have tested it for you.

Well done, Kev! and I will be a customer...

No problem on sending you one, the only thing it has not been tested on a XT with a big bore kit, high lift cam, ported head with big valves, I will pm you the in's & outs of the mod & you can decide if you want to try one.

Cool, I'll be watching out for that!

richardsracingmad 14-12-10 12:48

I wOULD buy one NOW...but I am not going to use it until February AT THE VERY EARLIEST, so there doesn't seem much point, and I don't want to deprive the rest of you.

However, if the uptake is a bit slow on these ones (I don't imagine many of us have a PC, but there-again, those that do are likely to be interested in making the bike a hell of a lot smoother), I'll have one . I'll wait and see how they sell.

It will be an AWESOME mod for XT. Probably is the most significant!!!!!!!

Any youtube vids to come soon???

Kev 14-12-10 12:51

Pm sent.

No videos as yet, all the info is been kept close handed at the moment. I am not to worried on how many mods I sell, as long as everyone likes the mod & it makes a difference to their ride I will be happy, this mod has taken me 2 years to perfect I have lost losts of hair over it.

richardsracingmad 14-12-10 12:56

i bet you're good a poker too......!!!! (keeping things close to your chest!!!)...

I think that the combination of a Kev Fuel Mod, Kev O2 Mod, and say a DNA Stage 2 filter, will be the most popular mod.

We will call it "THE BIG THREE" .... (lol ..you Raptor forum members will understand...)

Anyways..... WELL DONE KEV!

dazmatic 14-12-10 17:58

Im certainly intrigued
