Yorkshire Dales Camping and Trail riding weekend

Just seeing if anyone would be interested in a meet in the Yorkshire Dale's ? Kettlewell

The last one we had back on November 2009 was a tad wet,but I'm sure everyone had fun

we are do it ,but this time we will do it before we put the clock's back .

we have 2 area's in mind one has a bunk houes,so you only need to bring a sleeping bag.
There is a drying room just incase the weather is wet, and kitchen ,and the pub is only 100 yards away

for thoes that still want to camp there is room for a few tent's.

The cost is only a few pound's but I will get the correct price soon.

the other site will be camping only ,and also only a few minutes from the first trail of the day. both site's have food and Wc's

We can once again do a B road ride out. A ride out on easy lanes and a harder trail ride for those hardcore rider's !!!.

So ...anyone interested

Dazzer

Craig ,Nick and I have been out today scouting for a new site to use.

we hope to here from one place in the next few day's.

This would be perfect to use, but if they can't do it we will go to the other site.

Both site's we have in mind are only a few minute's ride from the trail's we will be riding

Dates...1st 2nd 3rd of October

We were thinking of early October.
{ sorry Ted ,but you will be in the Sunshine by then }

That will give everyone plenty of time to free up the weekend and it's also before the clock's go back which will give us a but more day light.

What's not to like?

dawesdave 11-08-10 00:29

count me in if im not working im there

GKT 11-08-10 07:35

I might be able to manage this and get a chance to meet a few of you. I'll be able to confirm in the next couple of weeks as I might need to go to the States in October but the dates are still to be finalised.

For anyone who's not met Darren, I can confirm he is a thoroughly good follow, A1 trail-rider and excellent company - so do put your hands up for this... as you are guaranteed a great weekend!

Sat around the campfire, singining ging-gang-gooly, who knows, he may even show you the fancy trophy he recently won, cementing his position as a premier 'International' extreme off-road randoneer...

http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/r...arrenwrong.jpg

Just don't ask him if he knows his left from his right x

I will be up for this, but on my newly aquired winter hack a Yamaha Diversion 600 :cwm10:. The Xt needs a rest as i have just clocked up 18K going to work yesterday, so for an 09 bike with 3k miles a year to the insurance :rofl[1]: i had better let it have a breather. So yes to camping or bunkhouse but will do the road ride out please......

Ok The date is booked for the 1st 2nd and 3rd of October.

so we can't use one of the campsite's we had in mind because the local pub as a wedding on that saturday and they won't be able to cope with us aswell.

So We are using the campsite in Kettlewell .

Site entrance is across from the garage filling station in the centre of the village

The price will be 3 per person per night.

I will arrive Friday afternoon.

If we wish the site will provide a few large BBQ's for us to cook our own food on

They can also do a Lamb Spit Roast with baps on saturday evening for 4 pp for all you can eat if were are interested.

There are 3 pub's in the village to keep us entertained each night, and best of all there only a 2 minute walk from the campsite.

If anyone would like a B and B there are plenty in the village have a look here http://www.kettlewell.info/accommodation.cfm

Saturday morning we will be having a few ride out's.

There will be a Hard off road route for those will plenty of experience.

Also a steady ride out with a mix of easy trail's and small tarmac country lane's.

We aim to leave the campsite on saturday morning at 8,30 for the short ride to Burnsal where we will have Breakfast.

Breakfast Choice is.....

beacon sandwich.. 2.10
sausage.............1.90
egg.................... 1.50
double egg..........1.70
beacon and egg....2.50
sausage and egg ..2.20

Count me in, I'll be coming down with John (AFK40) on the Friday. Also, one of me good mates will be coming along for the ride, as long as no one minds him turning up on a "Triumph". Oh, and that'll be another two breakfasts for both Saturday 'n Sunday. Looking forward.....
